About this place
Set along the streets of Hanakawado just northeast of Senso-ji temple, Red Dragon offers approachable halal Chinese dining. With a spread that spans spiced savoury stir-fries to gentle, soothing noodle broths, it serves equally well as a dining stop before or after sightseeing as it does for a straightforward everyday meal in the Asakusa area.
Among the noodles and mains, a perennial favourite is the tomato beef ramen, which pairs tender cuts of beef and leafy greens with a broth balancing sweetness and natural tomato acidity. The soup clings to the noodles without feeling heavy, making it an easy choice for lunch. The kitchen also prepares several rice noodle variations, including herbal mala rice noodles, herbal paitan rice noodles, and cumin lamb pan-fried rice noodles, allowing diners to dial in their preferred level of spice and aroma.
For sharing over drinks, smaller bites like the crispy fried chicken with its crunchy exterior or the zha cai tossed with sesame and mild chilli fit comfortably on the table. The dim sum selection features house pan-fried gyoza—available with either lamb or a shrimp, vegetable, and egg filling—alongside house boiled dumplings. Dishes like plump shrimp in mayonnaise sauce, shrimp fried rice, and cumin-scented stir-fries further showcase the kitchen's fragrant Chinese flavours.
Seating includes standard tables and booth seating, providing a calm setting suitable for solo dining, group gatherings, and family visits alike. Child seats are available, and takeaway is supported, making it an easy drop-in regardless of how your midday or evening plans are structured.
